High Q and Half Wits

Alex Trebel hosts this not-so-challenging game show. Originally starting as host of the 'Reach For the Top'-style high school quiz show High Q, Alex moved on to Half Wits, where the contestants never change, and neither does the score.

1 High Q [2 - 9 (3)]

First topic: authors, and Margaret jumps on the question before it is asked, several times. Bridgeman buzzes but backs out. Mifsud almost gets it right and contests it. Next topic: music. Margaret jumps on the question again. Bridgeman buzzes and backs out again. Townsend answers correctly, but it's Richmond's turn. Cathy then gets it wrong. The audience gets disruptive. Trebel loses his cool.

2 Night School High Q [4 - 2/2 (3)]

Night school students compete for prizes. Margaret, a former contestant on daytime High Q, always buzzes before the question. Mike buzzes and denies it. Peter offers to fix Mike's buzzer. John is long-winded. Gijs is dutch, and his wife is incapable of talking to the camera. Oogie answers questions that have already been answered. Alex loses his cool and starts ordering that buzzers be disconnected.

3 Half Wits [5 - 5/1 (2)]

Alex starts by chatting with the contestants. The first category is articles of clothing. The second is European cuisine. Alex decides to have the contestants pick a number from 1 to 10. Prize: seat covers.

4 Half Wits: Semi Finals [6 - 6 (1)]

The exciting semi-final round. Alex starts by talking to the contestants, who are Wesley Wilks and Arthur Andrew-Leggett, facing Blanche Ray Kellogg and Lawrence Orbach.

Alex explains the rules. Arthur and Wesley go first using the category 'Favorite Pets', but don't get any points (answer - Lhasa Apso). Blanch and Lawrence try their hand at the 'Frank Lloyd Wright' category but get it wrong (answer - Functional). Arthur and Wesley fail to complete the round. The prize of the evening is a stereo record cleaner from RUSH the Brush People. Alex decides to flip a coin to see which team will go into the Lightning Round. Lawrence and Arthur both call heads. They are out of time. No score.

5 Half Wits: Championship [6 - 14 (2)]

Alex chats with the contestants - Wesley Wilks and Arthur Andrew-Leggett, still facing off against Blanche Ray Kellogg and Lawrence Orbach. The prize is 1500 bucks.

Alex explains the new rules, established to ensure a winner - the contestants make up their own categories. Wesley's category is Things That Smell, while Arthur's is Different Balls. Needless to say, Blanche and Lawrence can't get any answers, so Alex awards Blanche and Lawrence 50 points because Arthur and Wesley's categories were so bad.

Lawrence's category is American History, which stumps Wesley. As Blanche wasn't even able to think of a category, they are penalized 50 points, and the buzzer sounds. No score.
